The Operations of Addition and Subtraction of Integers Using Media "Tali Bilangan"

The ability to count in addition and subtraction operations with integers is an ability that must be mastered by students. In class VIIIA of MTsN 7 Hulu Sungai Tengah, it was detected that many students did not master these arithmetic operations, thus greatly disrupting the learning process. Therefore, the teacher makes media in the form of "Tali Bilangan " to help students understand and master the concept. This study aims to determine the ability of students in working on addition and subtraction of integers after getting learning using the media "Tali Bilangan". This research is a descriptive research. The subjects used were students of class VIIIA at MTsN 7 Hulu Sungai Tengah, totaling 30 people. While the object of this paper is the ability to count in addition and subtraction operations of students' integers. Before learning begins, students are given a pretest. Then after learning using the media is complete, students are given a posttest. The results showed that there was a good development in terms of students' numeracy skills. The results of the pretest showed that the average score of the students was 40, improved to 58.15 in the posttest.
